BATS, BALLS, PROTECTIVE CUPS...

Yeah, the Devils won the Stanley Cup, (ho hum, I refuse to acknowledge a Stanley Cup Final which lacks the requiste Canadian team). Serena cried on international TV, again. Sosa got busted. The Nets beat the Spurs, 77-76, in Game 4.

Who cares, frankly, I haven't given a rats behind about professional basketball since Larry Bird retired. The real news, hee hee, the Windies are winning. The boys in maroon, hideous I know, are showing spirit. Hallelujah, hosanas, etc. Okay, so they seem to only have a knack for the final flourish; and it would be nice if they actually won a series for a change, but I'll take whatever they can muster at this point.

In further Windies news, Wes Hall is calling it quits. Pleading ill health, the 65 year old has announced that he won't be seeking re-election to the Presidency of the West Indies Cricket Board. The new head will be chosen during the Board's annual meeting slated for July 12-13 in Dominica.

Mark my words, no good will come of this. Suprised? I acknowledge that I may have, in a recent post, cast certain aspersions as to the esteemed gentleman's mental health; but you know what they say, "Better the devil you know then the devil you don’t."
